East Lampeter Township Planning Commission Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, 2019 has been canceled.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the Township of East Lampeter, Lancaster County, will conduct a public hearing and consider adoption of the ordinance summarized below at a regular public meeting on Monday, September 16, 2019, at 7:30 P.M. at the Township Office, 2250 Old Philadelphia Pike Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The following is the title and a summary of the ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE OF EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP SEWER ORDINANCE NO. 171 OF 1995, AS AMENDED, BY INCORPORATING, AS IF
FULLY SET FORTH AT LENGTH, CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE ADMINISTRATION ORDINANCE NO. 21-2017 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LANCASTER, LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA PERTAINING
TO DISCHARGE INTO THE CITY SEWER SYSTEM.

The ordinance amends the previously adopted East Lampeter Township Sewer Ordinance in accordance with the Agreement between the Township and the City of Lancaster, dated August 1, 1983, providing for the discharge and treatment of Township sewage at the City of Lancaster’s facilities. This ordinance incorporates, as if fully set forth at length, certain portions of Administration Ordinance No. 21-2017 of the City Council of the City of Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, which amended and rewrote Chapter 249 of the Code of the City of Lancaster—Sewers, and provides that any inconsistent provisions of the Township Ordinance are amended and restated to the extent that such provisions are inconsistent with the
City of Lancaster Administrative Ordinance No. 21-2017. Section 1 adopts Article I – “Sewer System Regulations,” and Article III, Section 249-29 – “Schedule of Rates” of City of Lancaster Administration Ordinance No. 21-2017. Section 2 provides for the repeal of inconsistent Township Ordinances and regulations. Section 3 provides for the continuing legal force and effect of all other Township Ordinances regarding the subject matter, including, without limitation Township Ordinance No. 205. Section 4 establishes the severability of invalid or illegal provisions. Section 5 establishes the effective date of the Ordinance. Following the hearing, the Board will consider the adoption of the ordinance described above. The full text of the ordinance may be examined at the Township office during regular business hours. Copies may be obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof. However, because no person may be in the office at the time of desired examination, it is recommended that any person desiring to examine the ordinance call the Township Office (Telephone No. 717-393-1567) for an appointment. Persons with disabilities who require any auxiliary aid, service, or other accommodation to observe or participate should contact the Township Office at least five days before the above date to discuss how your needs may be best accommodated.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PENSION PLAN FOR THE POLICE OFFICERS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF EAST LAMPETER PROVIDING FOR A DEFERRED RETIREMENT OPTION PLAN.

The ordinance amends the previously adopted East Lampeter Township Police Pension Plan by establishing a Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP) with a maximum three year participation period. The Ordinance adopts specific DROP provisions including definitions, eligibility requirements, benefits, participation period, and payments. The proposed ordinance includes a repealer and severability provision, as well as an effective date provision. Following the hearing the Board will consider the adoption of the ordinance described above. The full text of the ordinance may be examined at the Township office during regular business hours. Copies may be obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof.
