| DIRECTOR OF PLANNING / ZONING OFFICER – East Lampeter Township is accepting resumes for the position of Director of Planning/Zoning Officer. Duties include management and direction of employees; direct and coordinate activities with the Development, Administration and Enforcement of Township Ordinances; analyzing data and preparation of reports; primary point of contact for developers and property owners regarding construction, permitting, subdivision, land development, conditional use, rezoning, and zoning hearing board processes and applications; serves as the liaison to the Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board; coordinate the Township’s relationship with third-party inspection firms, neighboring municipalities, County Planning, and the Township Engineer; duties in all related areas of Township Planning and Zoning matters and participation as a member of the Township management team reporting directly to the Township Manager. A self-motivated, goal-oriented team player with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills is required in this position. The position requires a suitable combination of education and experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform successfully. Minimum of bachelor’s degree in planning, public administration, landscape architecture, engineering, or related field with four years’ experience. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) preferred. Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code, Uniform Construction Code, and Comprehensive Planning experience preferred. Building Code Official (BCO) certification preferred or required within the first year of employment East Lampeter Township offers a full package of benefits and starting salary range of $55,000 to $70,000.
