Notice for Public Meeting 4/6/2026

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of East Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, shall hold a public hearing and consider adoption of the following Ordinance at a regular meeting of the Board to be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Office located at 2250 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. At the conclusion of the public hearing or at a subsequent public meeting held within 60 days of the date of the second publication of this advertisement, the Board shall consider enacting and, if appropriate, will take a vote on adopting and enacting an ordinance, the caption of which is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF EAST LAMPETER, LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING THE EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 375, ZONING, TO CORRECT INCONSISTENCIES, FIX TYPOGRAPHICAL AND GRAMMATICAL ERRORS, ALIGN STANDARDS ACROSS DISTRICTS, AND UPDATE AND CLARIFY PROVISIONS.

The following is a summary of the Ordinance: Sections 1 through 3 amend and clarify certain definitions. Sections 4, 5 and 7 revise and clarify front and rear yard setbacks in various zoning districts. Sections 8 through 11 amend provisions relating to shared parking and access in the General Commercial (C-2) District, permitted uses in the Bird-in-Hand (BH) District, Floodplain Overlay regulations and accessory structures. Sections 6, 12, 15 and 31 correct grammatical and typographical errors. Section 13 amends and updates off-street parking requirements. Sections 14, 16, and 17 revise sign regulations. Sections 18 through 24 amend various supplemental regulations relating to drive-through facilities, manufactured home parks, principal uses, uses not provided for, and drones. Sections 25 through 29 amend administrative permit and inspection regulations. Section 30 increases the time afforded to applicants to obtain a permit following zoning variance approval. Sections 32 through 34 permit multifamily dwellings in the Low-Density Residential (R-1) District and amend related charts. Sections 35 through 37 revise lot width and lot coverage requirements within the Mixed-Use (MU) District. Sections 38 through 43 revise lot size, width, setback, and coverage requirements within the High-Density Residential (R-3) District. Sections 44 through 48 revise lot coverage and setback requirements within the Medium-Density Residential (R-2) District. Sections 49 and 50 amend off-street parking requirements within the Mixed-Use (MU) District. Sections 51, 52 and 53 set forth repealer, severability and effective date provisions.

However, because no person may be in the Township Office at the time of the desired examination, it is recommended that any person desiring to examine the ordinance call the Township Office (Telephone No. 717-393-1567) for an appointment.
